Welcome to the Sunshine Coast Ein herzliches Grüzi mitenand!  The beautiful Sunshine Coast is home to many Swiss people of all ages who are drawn here from all over Australia, New Zealand or direct from Switzerland by the wonderful climate and great beaches. In December 2006 a group of local Swiss residents founded the current “Swiss Club Sunshine Coast” to promote our Swiss traditions, support contact among the Swiss community and offer a friendly welcome to newcomers. Since then many more- young and old, single and families- have joined and are enjoying regular get-togethers. The Club committee is made up of enthusiastic club members who are working hard to put together exciting functions that everyone can attend during the year:  Festive National Day celebration with a bonfire in the countryTraditional Christmas celebration with Samichlaus for the childrenCasual BBQ on the beach or in a parkBushwalking and picnic in the National ParkFondue night and dancingGames night - Jass Abigand …Everyone is encouraged to contribute, especially musical talents are very welcome. We invite all Swiss and their families in this region to join us, contact our president or any of the committee members and find out how to have a fun time with your fellow Swiss – Aussies! |
