1. August Celebration - Swiss National Day
Date: Sunday, 29 July 2012
Time: Starting at 11am
Venue: COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB
Old Petrie Town COUNTRY
MUSIC CLUB
North Pine Country Park
Dayboro Road, Petrie Qld 4502

Dear Members and Swiss Friends!
The Committee from the Swiss-Club in Brisbane would like to cordially invite you to our 1 August celebration on 29 July 2012 in Petrie!
The festivities will start at 11am in the morning and conclude with a bonfire at dusk around 5pm.
As in previous years, the 4EB Radio-Van will be present to guide us all through the program of the day. We are very honoured to have the Consul General Mr Markus Meli and the Honorary Consul Mr Daniel Gschwind as our Guests of Honour!
It will be a spectacular day of entertainment and you will be able to enjoy traditional Swiss Music, Yodelling, Dancing, Face painting, a Colouring-in competition for the kids, and a Lampion Parade with the kids around the bonfire, during which we will be listening to the official National Day speech
by Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf (via tape)!
We will of course also cater for your tastebuds. We will serve some awesome foods including Bratwurst, Cervelat, salads and fresh bread. Your sweet tooth will be satisfied with goodies like Cremeschnitten, Nussgipfel and Öpfelchüchli. Nobody will go home hungry that’s for sure!
On the day you will also be able to buy a variety of meats and sausages from Goetzinger, Bündnerfleisch, Cheese, Kirschschoggi and Ragussa. And for the first time we will sell Rivella Rot for approx. $4.50 (please refer to page 3 for condition on the day).
We look forward to seeing you at our Swiss National Day Celebration!

Why not be there a little earlier to spend a relaxing Sunday morning at the Market and enjoy the activities in the North Pine Country Park historical village at Petrie. Visit a real blacksmith, see hear and smell those steam engines at work, or simply enjoy the restored buildings and lively atmosphere before joining us for the Swiss National Day function at
noon. North Pine Country Park is a unique heritage village set on grounds selected in 1868 by the English migrant James Foreman.
We hope everyone can join in the celebration of Switzerland’s National Day!

Showcase your business on the day Do you run your own business or does your business have a connection with Switzerland? If you are interested we would like to offer you the opportunity to have a space to showcase what you are doing.
We normally have between 500 – 700 people who come along to the Swiss National Day, so you would get pretty good exposure.
